Fellowship

What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3

Webster defines fellowship as “a community of interest, activity, feeling or experience.” First United Methodist Church of Alabaster recognizes that each person is unique and brings different gifts and experiences to this community we call the body of Christ. We celebrate our community of believers and embrace each other and our world in an effort to love people through the fellowship of the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ.

Through Worship –

Fellowship begins with Sunday Worship services. We gather together to corporately proclaim God’s greatness and love. Through music, prayer and the spoken Word – we share the joy of being united in Christ.

Through Communion –

Participation in Holy Communion links us to the Father through the sacrifice of Christ.  First United Methodist Church of Alabaster celebrates this means of grace during the worship services on the first Sunday of each month.  Our Communion table is open to all believers regardless of where they are in their journey.  Come and share with us as we seek God through the fellowship of Holy Communion.

Through Corporate events -

The Family Committee at First United Methodist Church of Alabaster  provides various times throughout the year for the entire church family to gather for social fellowship.  These include fifth Sunday pot luck dinners, a Burger-Dog talent show, dinner theatre, and receptions following special events.  We also have Reju-n-eat, our Wednesday night supper program. These are times we come together to initiate new friendships and nurture those existing relationships with laughter and of course good food!

Through Small Groups –

Sunday School classes, Link groups, Bible study groups and outreach ministries provide a place for fellowship to begin and grow.  These small groups are ideal places to share life’s joys and concerns which build and strengthen friendships within our church body.  As we learn and work side by side we encourage each other to live in hope as Christ’s example for our community and beyond.

Regardless of your definition of fellowship, you will find the people of First United Methodist Church of Alabaster  friendly, open and ready to welcome you in.  We invite you to come along side of us and join in our journey to the fullness of fellowship in the Family of God.
