Liz Benninger Named Full-time Director of Children’s Ministry
Over the past 5 years Alabaster First has experienced unprecedented growth that reflects the Methodist mission to bring disciples to Christ for the transformation of the world. A large part of the growth in our congregation is directly related to the Children’s and Nursery ministries, and it is that growth that led the SPRC to create a full time position for the Directory of Children’s ministry. We began the process of hiring for this position with the goal of having that individual in place by January 1st of 2012. We recognize the process has taken some time and we cannot be more sincere when we say thank you to the entire congregation for your patience and prayers during our discernment. After posting the job and receiving a number of applications one individual clearly stood out.
It is with great pleasure and pride that the SPRC can officially announce Liz Benninger was offered and has accepted the roll to become the full time Director of Children’s Ministry at Alabaster First United Methodist. The hiring process simply reinforced what we have come to know about Liz over the past year. First and foremost she is a child of God and we believe she has all the gifts and graces necessary to take what is already a fantastic Children’s ministry to the next level. With Liz in this position we believe the future of our Children’s ministry is in great hands.
