Responding To Last Night’s Storms

**01-25-2012**
Work still continues in areas affected by the tornado. All roofs that could have tarp on it, have been completed. The need now is for clearing property. Crews available to go out should meet at Restore at 8:00 AM. Please remember to come prepared; work shoes, gloves, water or drink.

We have received confirmation that the EMA is now ready to receive volunteer crews beginning tomorrow. We will meet at 8am tomorrow morning at Restore (Tuesday, January 24). Depending on volunteer interest, we will schedule more days through the week.

The work will likely consist of tarping roofs and sorting debris, so volunteers should have sturdy shoes, work gloves, and be very adaptable to the situation. A great deal of patience is required for all early responders, as the organizational response is still being put together. We are asking that folks who have received ERT training to bring their badges with them to volunteer, as well as their green ERT shirts, as the badges will likely be required to enter certain areas.

If you have not received ERT training, but would like to help, we will also be organizing teams to take bottled water out to volunteers in the field.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Trisa Moutardier at trisamout@me.com.

Thanks for your service to Christ and His church!

Blessings,
Pastor Brian

We are praying for those affected by last night’s severe weather, and will likely be organizing response teams over the course of the week. At this point, we are waiting for more information from the first responders to ensure that whatever action we take, it is helpful.

We will send out email updates when we have more information, and will also be posting to the church’s Facebook site. These events, while painful and tragic, are another opportunity to witness to the all sufficient grace of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for being a part of such a mission minded church!

Blessings,
Pastor Brian
